Get help by text
Text 'U help' and the system will send you a list of all the commands for which you can get help. You do it like this:
U help
You will then receive a list of all the current Upingme commands, and instructions on how to get help on each command.
Set Your Location
Set your location like this:
U @ <location>
Example: U @ Bar Italia Frith Street London W1
Will set your location as 'Bar Italia Frith Street London W1'. Your friends will be sent a text saying where you are, and they can also use Google Earth to see you and find directions to you.
Make Friends
You can mark one of your mates as a friend like this:
U @ friend <number>
Example: U @ friend 004477712345678
Will set the owner of mobile number '004477712345678' as your friend. You will then be able to see where they on the web and on your mobile.
Find a Friend
You find the exact location of one of your friends like this:
U @ find <number>
Example: U @ find 004477712345678
Upingme Uät will send you a text with the exact location of your friend.
Send Upingmoney to anyone
You can send Upingmoney to someone like this:
U send <amount> to <004477712345678> <your PIN>
Example: U send 25 to 004477712345678 2534
Will send 25 to 004477712345678. If they do not have a Upingme account we will create one for them.
Deleting a message from Upingme
You can delete your Upingme messages at any time:
U delete <magic number>
Example: U delete a568j
Removes a message from the system. All the replies attached to this message will be deleted also.
Search for Upingme messages
Find a message(s) tagged with a word. Upingme sends back messages prefixed with their magic numbers. You can search with one tag at a time, and you can ask for between 1 and 9 results to be sent back to you.
U find<number of results> <tag>
Example: U find3 toasters
Will tell the system that you are searching for a toaster, and you want only seven results. The system will not return the same result to you twice.
Create a Upingme alert
You can tell Upingme to send you a text whenever a message appears on the system that you may beinterested in. Sending this to Upingme:
U alert <tag>
Example: U alert toaster
will tell the system that you want to be alerted whenever someone posts a message and tags it with the word 'toaster'.
To remove a upingme alert, send this:
U unalert <tag>
Example: U unalert toaster
Will tell the system that you no longer want to be alerted whenever someone posts a message and tags it with the word 'toaster'.
Forward a upingme message to a friends mobile
To forward a Upingme message to another mobile user, send this:
U fwd <magic number> <friends number>
Example: U fwd a568j 004477712345678
Will tell Upingme to forward the message with magic number a568j to 004477712345678. The forwarded message will appear to have come from your phone directly.
Control your replies
When you post on Upingme, people will reply to your message, and these replies will be sent to your mobile. You can choose how many of these replies you wish to recieve, any number above that, 'spilling' onto your web account:
U cutoff <number>
Example: U cutoff 77
Will tell the system that you want to recieve 77 messages on your mobile before your web account kicks in.
After you recieve ten answers, all replies beyond that go to your web account automagically. This is the system default. You may Log in to your account to read your replies any time.
Set the goodness of a Upingme user
You can let other people know what your experience of a Upingme user was like. If you found, for example, a great plumber on Upingme, you should mark his Upingme message as 'good', like this:
U judge <magic_number> <good / bad>
Example: U judge a568j good
Will mark the user who posted a568j ' good'. Other people will then be able to rely on your rating.
Find the goodness of a Upingme user
U check <magic number>
Returns the number of people who rated that user good and/or bad.
Example: U check a568j
Will make Upingme send a message to you saying how many people rated the poster of a568j good or bad.
Delete your account
U stop <your password>
Completely delete your Upingme account.
Example: U stop jd8fhejd
Will delete your account and all of the messages associated with it, and will permanently remove your phone number from the Upingme system. You can open a new account at any time by simply sending a new message to Upingme.
Retrieve your password and PIN
U password
To retrieve your password and PIN at any time,
Send: U password
And the system will text you your password, username and PIN.
