Upingme is not in the business of selling or renting mobile numbers.
Our business is connecting people and moving messages between them. We guard the privacy of our users in the same way that we guard our own; we built Upingme as a service that liked to use ourselves, and we use it with our own mobiles. Your privacy is our privacy, and we will not do anything with your mobile number that we would not like to happen to our own mobile numbers.
Information We Collect and Store
We use Google Analytics to analyze our page view statistics. We do not use it on any pages that are owned by users; that means you user page, message control pages and other pages that are controlled by you are not seen by Google Analytics.
When you attach your mobile number to your Upingme account, we store that number and the text message you sent to us to attach your mobile. You can remove your mobile number at any time from your account with a single click.
Message Privacy
Upingme does not disclose your mobile number when you reply to a post.
Messages we send
Upingme only sends messages to you that you request. You can request these messages by either subscribing to Upingme alerts or by making posts or replies where you explicitly state that you wish to receive SMS replies from others. We do not send out any other kind of SMS message, except to confirm that you have re-set your password. When you remove all of your Upingme alerts and delete all your Upingme posts and replies no SMS messages will be sent from Upingme to you, even though your number may still stored on the Upingme system, which you can remove at any time with a single click.
API
The Upingme API allows access to Upingme posts and replies and Upingme Magic Numbers. API users do not have access to the mobile numbers of Upingme users, and the mobile numbers of Upingme users cannot be looked up in reverse from the Magic Numbers.
Third parties
Upingme does not and will not rent, sell, or divulge the telephone numbers of its users to third parties. We may divulge the numbers of single users upon presentation of a properly executed court order served in the correct jurisdiction in matters that violate natural law.
Upingme is not responsible for the actions of the message carriers that are used to deliver SMS messages to its servers, and we are not responsible for the content of the posts and replies on the service, which belong to the people who made them.
Data usage
We use the data on our servers (mobile numbers, posts and replies) to perform the Upingme services. We use this data to tune the system performance and to maintain our equipment.
Security
We make every endeavour to secure our servers and equipment. We cannot offer a guarantee of complete security of our servers (no one anywhere on Earth can) or the physical security of third party equipment that Upingme may be hosted on.
